Job summary

Nebraska Medicine's Werner Cancer Hospital Specialty Care Unit (WSCU) is seeking an RN for nights to support oncology patients undergoing complex treatments. The role focuses on safe and compassionate care, coordination with the care team, and accurate documentation in the EMR.

The ideal candidate holds an ADN or Nursing Diploma, current Nebraska RN license or compact state license, BLS, and PALS as required.

Qualifications

• ADN or Nursing Diploma required.
• Current Nebraska RN license or compact state license required.
• BLS certification endorsed by AHA required.
• PALS department dependent required.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills required.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.

Responsibilities

• Provide, prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care for Oncology/Hematology patients. Environment may be long term, emergent, or acute.
• Coordinate delivery of clinical resources to assure safe, high quality patient care and continuity of care.
• Support education and research goals of the unit.
• Document nursing actions and use EPIC/EMR systems.
