Job summary

Valley Health in Winchester, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse II for the Medical Oncology department on the Third Shift. The RN will perform the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of care, while supporting quality communication and teamwork across the health care team.

Applicants must hold an RN license (VA/WV eligible), BLS certification, and an Associate Nursing degree (BSN preferred). Minimum RN experience is 1872 hours (936 hours if BSN).

Qualifications

• RN license required (Virginia and/or West Virginia eligibility)
• BLS certification (AHA Healthcare Provider) required
• Associates Nursing degree required; BSN preferred
• Minimum RN experience: 1872 hours (936 hours if BSN) and successful performance evaluation

Responsibilities

• Carry out the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation.
• Coordinate and deliver patient teaching, quality and safety initiatives, and activities of the health team with professional communication and teamwork.
• Serve as Charge Nurse as assigned, participate in PI activities and department initiatives, and communicate with Director/Designee and co-workers.
• Maintain adherence to professional standards and ensure timely and accurate documentation.
