Job summary

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to deliver inpatient oncology care, including assessments, care planning, and administration of chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing; BSN preferred; must complete BSN within 4 years.
• 1 year of recent RN experience preferred.
• Oncology/hematology experience in inpatient or ambulatory infusion setting preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records (Epic) preferred.
• Massachusetts RN license required; ONS/ONCC Chemo/Immunotherapy cert required or within 6 months.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred depending on area.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct oncology nursing care, including comprehensive assessment and care planning.
• Administer antineoplastic agents and supportive therapies per protocols; perform independent double checks.
• Manage central venous access devices; perform access, maintenance, and blood product transfusions.
• Educate patients and families; coordinate multidisciplinary resources and referrals.
• Document care in Epic and maintain medication records and education documentation.
• Participate in quality and safety activities and support clinical research protocols as applicable.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, pharmacists, social workers, and research staff.
• May serve as charge nurse, preceptor, or mentor; provide direction to staff.
