Job summary

Orange County Government in Orlando, FL is seeking a Night Shift Unit Supervisor to oversee nursing care in the correctional facility, ensuring quality patient care and adherence to standards. The role may serve as Nurse Manager in their absence, supervising LPNs, RNs, and support staff.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Nursing, Florida RN license, BCLS, and 4 years of RN experience with at least 2 in supervision. Must work nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related allied health profession.
• Must possess a current Florida license as a registered nurse.
• BCLS certification.
• Must be able to work shifts, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Directs and oversees the activities of LPNs, RNs, MAs, Lab Technicians and other staff.
• Instructing, educating and reviewing the work of others.
• Maintaining standards of the division.
• Directing personnel including schedules, counseling and corrective actions.
• Assists staff with med passes, physical assessments, and sick calls.
• Holds monthly staff meetings and daily rounds of assigned areas.
