Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in Camden, NJ seeks a Nursing School Critical Care Tech to support daily living activities and assist the healthcare team under an RN. The role emphasizes safety, education, and communication with patients and families.

Requirements include 0-2 years experience, HSD/GED, nursing fundamentals with clinical, and BLS certification. Orientation will include phlebotomy and EKG training as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing with clinical and active enrollment in nursing school.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, mobility).
• Perform phlebotomy, vital signs, point of care testing, EKGs, Foley catheter care; document.
• Communicate changes in patient status to RN and respond appropriately.
• Reinforce education for patients and families regarding care needs and safety.
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and quality improvement activities.
• Complete annual hospital and unit-specific competencies by the due date.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain high-quality patient care.
• Demonstrate effective communication with patients, visitors and coworkers.
