Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Lansing, MI seeks a nursing assistant to support the Neuro department during night shifts from 7p to 7a under RN supervision, delivering patient care per the patient care plan.

Responsibilities include assisting with ambulation, transfers, hygiene, data collection, and basic diabetes and blood glucose tasks. Requires high school diploma and relevant coursework; BLS certification. Direct patient care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Specialized nursing assistant education options listed (acute care, long-term care, EMT, medical assistant, or clinical rotation).
• Direct patient care experience preferred; at least six months required if education options not met.
• BLS certification as Healthcare Provider or MTN equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provides routine patient care services such as call light response; ambulating, transferring, positioning; personal hygiene assistance, prescribed bowel and bladder program assistance, etc.
• Collects, records, and reports various patient data. Reports changes in patient condition.
• Performs surgical skin preps, basic skin care procedures, bedside finger stick blood sugars, and quality control checks of blood glucose instruments.
