Job summary

Northwell Health in New York is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant for the nights shift (11pm-7am), with varied start times as early as 9pm and as late as 12am-8am. The role includes assisting patients with activities of daily living and supporting the healthcare team to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities include measuring vital signs, assisting with meals, hygiene, feeding, collecting specimens, and reporting changes to the RN.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of a Nursing Assistant course required.
Heart Saver Certification preferred.
Minimum two years of direct patient care experience.
Excellent communication skills required.

Responsibilities

Provides patients with assistance in performing activities of daily living.
Assists with equipment/supplies for oral and personal hygiene.
Prepares patients for meals and assists with feeding as needed.
Measures and records vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, BP), intake/output, height/weight.
Collects specimens (urine, stool, sputum) and reports observations to RN.
Assists with selected diagnostic tests and treatments under RN supervision.
Responds to patient calls and emergencies; maintains patient safety and comfort.
Performs routine nursing tasks and supports the nursing team as assigned.
