Job summary

Northwell Health in Plainview, NY seeks a Nursing Assistant to support daily living activities and patient safety on a full-time schedule. Varied shifts may start as early as 6:00 AM and end by 7:00 PM, including weekends and holidays as needed.

You will assist patients with ADLs, help with meals, monitor vitals, and support the health care team under supervision. Prior experience and a Nursing Assistant course are required or preferred; a High School Diploma is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent, required.
• Completion of a Nursing Assistant Course.
• Heart Saver Certification, preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years of direct patient care experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provides patients with assistance in performing activities of daily living.
• Assists with oral and personal hygiene and prepares patients for meals.
• Measures and records Temperature/Pulse/Respiration, BP, height, weight, intake/output.
• Collects specimens as required and reports changes to the RN.
• Assists with various diagnostic tests and treatments under supervision.
• Ensures patient safety, responds to calls and emergencies, transports patients.
