Job summary

Mercy in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a House Supervisor to oversee nursing unit operations and serve as a clinical/administrative resource for staff. You will represent Administration during absences and supervise admissions to place patients in the right division during 12-hour night shifts.

Missouri RN licensure is required; 3–5 years hospital nursing experience with leadership preferred. BLS and ACLS are required before orientation, and a solid understanding of patient care processes is

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• Licensure: Missouri RN license; compact licensure acceptable; meet state board requirements.
• Experience: 3–5 years hospital nursing; leadership experience preferred.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS prior to orientation.
• Other: Strong communication and patient care understanding.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing unit operations and department activities.
• Act as clinical and administrative resource for staff.
• Represent Administration when they are not here.
• Serve as Patient Placement supervisor for admissions.
• Monitor ED throughput; adjust staffing per census and acuity.
• Oversee staffing based on census and staffing grids.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality; uphold Mercy standards.
