Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a patient care associate for the Medical/Surgical Telemetry 3W unit on the night shift. The role involves performing delegated patient care, maintaining a safe environment, and upholding patient-centered care standards.

Under RN supervision, you will assist with daily activities, provide compassionate support, and ensure compliance with HIPAA/OSHA. Night hours are 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with weekends and full-time scheduling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Formal education or training in a medical careers program OR enrollment in nursing school OR two or more years’ experience in a Patient Care Associate/Nurse Assistant role.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent, is required before start date and valid at least 60 days beyond start date.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.
