The position emphasizes emergencies, patient care, and collaboration with healthcare professionals and security staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP/PA program.
• Must possess current licenses or certifications in the state of employment.
• Experience in correctional healthcare is preferred but not required.
• Maintains required annual licensure and credentialing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Respond to medical emergencies throughout the facility.
• Identify patient health problems and prescribe treatment under physician supervision.
• Implements medical care with regimens approved by a Physician.
• Provides education to inmate/patients, healthcare staff, and correctional staff.
• Documents all healthcare contacts.
• Adheres to safety and security policies and infection control practices.
• Attends training and meetings as required.
