Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies in Muskegon Heights, MI is hiring a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant for a full-time role with no nights, weekends, or holidays. The NP/PA will deliver ambulatory care in a correctional setting under physician supervision, working with a team including healthcare staff and security personnel.

The position requires graduation from an accredited NP/PA program and current state licenses. Prior correctional experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP/PA program.
• Must possess current licenses or certifications in the state of employment.
• Experience in Correctional care is preferred but not required.
• Maintains required annual licensure and credentialing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Responds to and initiates care for medical emergencies throughout the facility.
• Identifies patient health problems and prescribes treatment under physician direction.
• Implements medical care using regimens approved by a Physician.
• Provides education to inmates/patients and healthcare staff.
• Documents all healthcare contacts and adheres to safety policies.
