Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Level III NICU RN for a night-shift travel assignment. Requires recent NICU experience and BLS/NRP certifications.

The role covers a Level III NICU with 42 beds, nursing neonates from 22 weeks gestation and above, with varied acuity. Night shifts run 7PM–7AM for 13 weeks, with 5 weekends worked. Housing and travel reimbursements are provided as part of benefits.

Qualifications

Active TX or compact RN license required.
Current BLS and NRP certifications required.
Minimum 1 year of recent NICU experience required.
Skilled in safe medication administration and calculation per the 5 patient rights.
Experience with NG/OG tubes, CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and nasal cannula.

Responsibilities

Level III NICU unit within a 42-bed department.
Care for neonates 22 weeks gestation and above, including preterm and surgical patients.
Patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1 depending on acuity for Level 3; 3:1 for Level 2.
Operate radiant warmers, isolettes, syringe pumps, feeding pumps, ventilators, and related devices.
EMR systems used are CPN and Meditech.
Night shift 7PM-7AM for 13 weeks; five weekends worked.
Floating to Mother Baby unit, limited to managing babies.
Assist with intubations, UAC/UVC placement, eye exams, imaging, labs, PICC, circumcisions.
