Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, Florida is seeking a Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Therapist for a StaffFlex contract on the night shift (7p–7a). The role involves delivering routine and continuous respiratory therapy, monitoring and coaching patients, and adjusting therapies per protocol.

The position pays $49.00/hr. Requirements include an Associate degree, BLS and ACLS, RRT/CRT credentials, and neonatal-related certifications; 1+ year of critical care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have Associate degree and High School Grad or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved respiratory care program.
• 1+ year of critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers routine respiratory treatments and continuous respiratory therapy including aerosol therapy, lung expansion therapy, oxygen therapy, and bronchial hygiene.
• Monitors, instructs, and coaches patients before, during, and after treatment delivery.
• Prevents and/or resolves untoward side effects and adjusts therapies according to protocol and documented clinical criteria.
• Reevaluates patient/ventilator interface at least every four hours, responds to alarms, and troubleshoots as needed.
• Establishes weaning readiness and facilitates the weaning process, adjusting ventilator settings in accordance with patient progress.
