Job summary

AdventHealth in Orange City, FL is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide skilled care across neonatal to geriatric patients. You will guide treatment plans, supervise staff and students, and maintain critical airways with rapid assessment and intervention.

The role requires RRT credentials, ACLS/BLS/PALS, and strong communication. Night shifts and a supportive team culture contribute to professional growth and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of respiratory therapy or equivalent training.
• 3+ years of hospital experience as an RRT.
• Acute care experience with blood gas lab management.
• Assess and reevaluate therapy based on patient status.
• Educate staff, patients, and families; share best practices.
• Strong communication and thorough documentation.
• Ability to respond to emergencies and perform CPR.

Responsibilities

• Recommend changes in respiratory care plans based on medical necessity and protocols.
• Instruct and coach patients before, during, and after treatment delivery.
• Initiate and maintain mechanical ventilation; adjust settings as needed.
• Draw and analyze arterial blood gases and manage arterial lines.
• Respond to emergencies; establish airways and perform CPR as required.
• Support staff with diagnostics (ECG, PFTs, bronchoscopy) as needed.
• Mentor student preceptorship programs and promote quality care.
