Job summary

Seattle Children's is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This 0.9 FTE night shift position offers a generous sign-on bonus up to $15,000 and relocation assistance of $8,000 for qualified external candidates.

The NICU is a 48-bed Level IV unit serving WA, AK, MT, and ID with advanced neonatal care. The RN provides safe, family centered care using standard nursing processes, collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, and may supervise technicians.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Prior experience in a pediatric related health care setting, or a specific area of nursing, may be required for specific departments.
• Current Washington State RN License, or other current state license that the RN is required to work in.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is required for all positions at time of hire unless the incumbent possesses a current appropriate Life Support Education required for their practice area.
• PALS/PEARS accepted in lieu of BLS; ACLS not accepted.
• Neonatal Intensive Care Unit requires PALS within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, family centered patient care.
• Use Nursing Care Process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care with patients and families.
• Coordinate with health care team; supervise and delegate tasks to Nurse Technicians, LPNs, CNAs as defined by state.
• Contribute to Seattle Children's strategic goals and continuous performance improvement initiatives.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
