University of North Florida is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform skilled, multi-trade preventive maintenance, repair, and installation across campus facilities on the 2300-0730 night shift. The role emphasizes safe, reliable operation of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems in academic, research, and administrative spaces.

The ideal candidate will diagnose issues, execute corrective actions, document work in the CMMS, and support campus projects and emergency responses

Qualifications

Completion of an approved apprenticeship program for multiple trades or a high school diploma and 3+ years of relevant experience.

Responsabilités

Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs on campus HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems.
Diagnose equipment and system malfunctions using trade knowledge and manuals; determine corrective actions and communicate findings.
Install, replace, modify, and repair building components and system controls adhering to codes and university requirements.
Complete work orders from assessment to closeout, documenting labor, materials, findings, and status in the maintenance system.
Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, and service vehicles safely and effectively.
Conduct routine facility inspections to identify safety hazards and maintenance needs before disruptions occur.
