Job summary

Abbott Columbus Plant is seeking a Multi-Craft Maintenance Mechanic to support manufacturing, research labs, warehouses and offices in a 24/7 environment. This role involves performing PMs, calibrations, and repairs on fillers and packaging lines, and rebuilding gearboxes and conveyors.

You will read schematics, work with various tools, and ensure safe, efficient operation while minimizing downtime on complex equipment. A night-shift capable, hands-on technician is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and a two-year mechanical/electrical technical degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in mechanical and electrical repair of high-speed filling and packaging equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7, skilled-trade maintenance support for manufacturing, labs, warehouses and offices.
• Perform PMs, calibrations and repairs on fillers and ancillary equipment.
• Rebuild gearboxes and reducers, replace chains, belts, and guards as needed.
• Maintain hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment; prevent downtime.
• Ensure safe, efficient operation and minimal downtime across line equipment.
