Job summary

Interfor is seeking a Millwright for the night shift in Baxley, GA. You will read equipment drawings, perform preventative maintenance, cut and weld fabrication, and repair machinery to keep lines running.

Candidates should have 2–4 years of millwright experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a strong safety record. We offer comprehensive benefits and opportunities to grow within a leading forest products company.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of millwright level experience.
• High School Diploma/Equivalent Preferred.
• Prior manufacturing/warehouse/lumber operations experience preferred.
• Ability to work in varying seasonal climate conditions.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand equipment drawings and blueprints.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance duties.
• Cut, weld, and perform fabrication work with different types of steel.
• Assess repairs and estimate timeframes to complete.
• Repair machinery in a timely manner.
• Identify mechanical and hydraulic problems and assist in finding solutions and making necessary repairs.
• Identify shaft sizes, measure up, and build shafts for replacement.
• Identify and change sprockets, bearings, and chains etc.
• Communicate with operators about equipment performance and problems.
• Coordinate with Planning and Scheduling Departments.
• Adhere to lock-out safety procedures and test isolation.
• Submit work requests and fill out work orders.
