Job summary

West Fraser is seeking a skilled Millwright for an on-site role at Blackshear, GA. The successful candidate will repair and maintain industrial equipment, read drawings, and work with hoists and torque tools.

The job requires a minimum of two years of verified Millwright experience, welding (GMAW/SMAW), and cutting torch experience, with readiness for night/day shifts. The position emphasizes safety, self-start capability, and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Requires own basic tools.
• Minimum two years verifiable work experience as a Millwright.
• Welding experience (GMAW and/or SMAW).
• Cutting torch experience (Oxygen/Acetylene).
• Ability to read and understand drawings and printed instructions.
• Must be able to work night and day shifts.
• Pre-employment drug screen, physical, reference and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain industrial equipment including debarkers, canters, gang saws, and edgers.
• Read and understand drawings and printed instructions.
• Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
• Align machines and adjust clearances with measuring tools.
• assemble and install equipment using hand and power tools.
• Lay out mounting holes and drill with power drill.
• Replace defective parts and adjust alignments.
• Level bedplates and establish centerlines.
• Dismantle machines with hand tools.
