Job summary

Labcorp in Raritan, NJ is seeking a Technologist to join the Microbiology team. The role supports testing, instrument maintenance, and quality control in a high-volume lab with a Wednesday–Sunday 9:00 pm–5:30 am schedule.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a chemical/biological science or MLS. ASCP/AMT certification is preferred. Labcorp emphasizes accurate results and patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• MLS degree acceptable in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper function.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results for quality patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
