Job summary

Certified Group is seeking a Microbiology Technician to prepare samples for analytical and microbiological testing of food products, ingredients, and environments.

You will apply approved microbiological techniques, maintain media and reagents, monitor quality controls, and ensure accurate records while working in a fast-paced, safety-conscious lab.

Based in Fresno, CA, this full-time night shift (6:00pm–2:30am) offers a pay range of $19–$21 USD per hour, with equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Life Science or two years of laboratory experience preferred.
• Broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of a food testing laboratory.
• Ability to travel is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for indicator organisms and chemistries.
• Apply aseptic techniques in daily workload.
• Maintain media and reagents for daily microbiological testing.
• Inventory and report expendable supplies needed for testing requirements.
• Provide routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal.
• Perform quality control monitoring (e.g., incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms).
• Independently pursue assigned processes in line with FSNS policies and customer requirements.
• Maintain laboratory condition, equipment, supplies, and quality assurance records.
• Complete tasks in a neat, safe, and efficient manner.
• Share information openly and timely with team.
• Assist with prioritizing and scheduling to meet individual and team goals.
