Job summary

Certified Group is seeking a Microbiology Technician to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. You will prepare samples for microbiological testing of foods and environments, applying approved techniques and maintaining readiness of media and reagents.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED; an Associate degree in Life Science or two years of lab experience is preferred, with travel as an option. Schedule: Tue-Sat, 3pm-12am; safety and accurate record-keeping are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Associate degree in Life Science or two years of lab experience
• Broad knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures in a food testing lab
• Ability to travel is preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries
• Apply aseptic techniques in daily workload
• Maintain media and reagents for daily microbiological testing
• Inventory and report expendable supplies needed for testing
• Provide routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning and sanitizing
• Perform quality control monitoring by taking incubator temperatures and inoculating controls
• Follow FSNS procedures and customer requirements to pursue assigned processes
• Maintain laboratory condition, equipment, supplies, and records
• Perform activities in a neat, safe and efficient manner
• Share information openly and timely

Education

High School diploma or GED
