Job summary

Cedar Hills Hospital is seeking a Night Shift Mental Health Technician to observe, escort, and monitor patients under RN direction. You will provide basic nursing care and assist with daily living activities while maintaining a safe environment.

The role requires understanding of behavior management for psychiatric/substance use disorders and the ability to follow policies and treatment plans. CPR/BLS within 30 days is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of behavior management strategies required to provide care for persons with psychiatric and/or substance use disorders.
• Must be able to read, understand, and follow policies, procedures, and written treatment plans.
• Knowledge of approved techniques to assist patients with ambulation and self-care preferred.

Responsibilities

• observes, escorts, and monitors patients
• reports observations to the Registered Nurse
• provides basic nursing care under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• assists patients with activities of daily living; assists in the maintenance of a safe, secure, and clean environment
• engages patients in positive role models recovery-oriented behaviors
