Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a behavioral health professional to assist planning and implementing patient care for psychiatric inpatients during the night shift. You will provide direct care, participate in diagnostic procedures, and support intake processes under RN supervision.

The role emphasizes documentation, crisis response, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective patient care and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and some college; preferred majors listed.
• 6 months direct care experience required, ideally in behavioral health settings.
• 1 year of experience in Behavioral Health.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and adapt to emergencies.
• Ability to speak clearly and communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of mental health and/or substance abuse; BLS within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Documents client behaviors observed during shift and charts into EMR.
• Accepts emergency/crisis calls and triages according to urgency and staff assignment.
• Assists residents with personal care and hygiene per treatment plan and guidelines.
• Supports activities of daily living; aligns actions with treatment goals.
• Engages in continuing education and presents findings to staff.
• Works within a multidisciplinary team and supports the professional practice model.
