Merit Health Central in Jackson, MS is seeking a Mental Health Tech to join the Interdisciplinary team. The role supports nursing staff and patients under licensed staff guidance, focusing on daily living activities and safety.

Responsibilities include maintaining supplies, patient hygiene, and responding to requests promptly. The position requires 0–2 years in a mental health patient care setting, BCLS certification, and de-escalation training.

Competenze

• 0-2 years of experience as a patient care assistant in a mental health hospital setting required
• BCLS - Basic Life Support required
• De-escalation Training Certification required

Mansioni

• Assists with activities of daily living and non-medication pain management.
• Monitors and records patient information, test results and stats.
• Responds to patient and family requests promptly.
• Provides patient with clean linen and basic supplies.
• Maintains infection control and PPE protocol as directed.
• Crisis intervention and de-escalation when needed and follows Code White procedures.
