Responsibilities include patient assistance, safety, data recording, and crisis intervention. Requires 0–2 years in a mental health setting and BCLS with de-escalation training certification.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience as a patient care assistant in a mental health hospital setting required

Responsibilities

• Ensures supplies and equipment for patient care are readily available and organized.
• Responds to patient and family requests promptly.
• Accurately monitors and records patient information, test results and stats.
• Provides care to assigned patients including activities of daily living and non-medication pain management.
• Follows patient care policies, practices and protocols such as sterile technique and skin care.
• Assists with personal hygiene and elimination needs.
• Maintains clean linen and towels and changes as needed.
• Answers call system promptly and intervenes appropriately.
• Cleans equipment as directed.
• Participates in program development and process improvement.
• Performs crisis intervention and responds to Code White alerts.
