Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Mental Health Tech for the Merit Health Central facility in Jackson, MS. The role supports nursing staff, assesses patient needs, and participates in an interdisciplinary team to address functional abilities and care requirements.

The position requires 0-2 years of patient care experience in a mental health setting, a High School Diploma, and BCLS certification with de-escalation training. Night shift hours and rotating weekends/holidays apply.

Formación

• 0-2 years of experience as a patient care assistant in a mental health hospital setting.

Responsabilidades

• Ensures supplies and equipment for patient care are readily available and organized in an efficient manner.
• Correctly identifies and uses appropriately personal protective equipment.
• Responds to patient and family requests promptly.
• Accurately monitors and records patient information, test results and stats.
• Provides care to assigned patients including activities of daily living and non-medication pain management.
• Follows patient care policies and protocols (sterile technique, skin care).
• Assists with personal hygiene and elimination needs.
• Provides patient with clean linen and towels at shift start and as needed.
• Answers call system promptly and intervenes appropriately.
• Maintains continuity of professional care and participates in program development and process improvement.
• Performs crisis intervention and responds to Code White alerts as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
