Job summary

The Community Service Board of Middle Georgia seeks a Behavioral Health Specialist for its Dublin, GA BHCC. The role provides counseling, crisis intervention, and treatment planning within a 40-bed facility serving behavioral health crises.

Under supervision, you will coordinate care, develop discharge plans, and collaborate with partner agencies to ensure safe, compassionate care and timely follow-up for patients in crisis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, human services or related field
• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, human services or related field (license eligible)
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse communities
• Ability to work independently and with others
• Experience with Microsoft 365 Office Products
• Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling to clients and families using evidence-based interventions
• Prepare treatment, biopsychosocial and discharge plans and required assessments
• Provide crisis intervention and emergency services as needed
• Collect data to identify causes of problems and determine therapeutic approaches
• Manage a specialized caseload and prepare admission/discharge studies
• Arrange therapies for crisis conditions or serious disturbances
• Follow up to assess treatment efficacy and modify services
• Consult with legal and treatment agencies regarding records and rights
• Collaborate with therapists and staff and refer clients to services as required
• Perform other duties as assigned
