Job summary

PACS is dedicated to revolutionizing post-acute healthcare nationwide. This role assists in administering medications to residents under physician and nursing supervision, following facility policies and state requirements for accuracy and safety.

You will prepare, document, and verify medications, ensure proper labeling, and report any errors or deviations promptly to the nursing leadership. A licensed Medication Aide with state training is required.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Medication Aide with state-approved training.
• Ability to read and interpret policies, procedures, and physician orders.
• Skilled in documenting medication administration and reporting discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Follow facility policies for administering medications to residents.
• Record and report any medication errors promptly to supervisors.
• Help develop procedures to identify and prevent medication errors.
• Complete necessary forms, charts, and reports as required.
• Maintain professional relationships with nursing staff, physicians, and pharmacists.
• Report resident complaints to the Director of Nursing Services.
• Participate in surveys and Quality Assurance programs related to medications.
• Prepare, administer, and document oral and topical medications as ordered.
• Verify medications brought by new residents are identified by the physician or facility pharmacist.
• Ensure proper labeling, charting, and safe disposal per policies.
