Job summary

Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens, TN, is seeking a Medical Technologist to join our laboratory team on the night shift (7pm–7am). You will perform specimen processing, automated testing, and result reporting, supporting high-quality patient care.

Candidates should have an ASCP/AMT or Tennessee license and a Bachelor's degree is preferred. We offer comprehensive benefits, PTO, tuition assistance, and a 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have either an ASCP, AMT, or Tennessee State License.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows standardized procedures and helps prepare samples for testing.
• Collects samples and analyzes bodily fluids and substances for abnormalities.
• Collects blood and studies blood samples used in transfusions.
• Operates laboratory equipment in a high-quality, effective manner.
• Analyzes test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits, and reports/documents results per organizational standards.
• Performs automated tests using computerized instruments & automated equipment.
• Runs tests and analyzes the results to be reported to the physician or registered nurse.
• Performs Quality Assurance work to ensure accuracy of equipment.
