Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio is hiring a Medical Technologist for a full-time night shift to perform laboratory testing, monitor instrumentation, and report results quickly in a high-demand clinical lab.

Requirements include a Baccalaureate or Associate Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field, ASCP certification or eligibility, and strong communication skills; experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Education requirements: Baccalaureate or Associate Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field.
• Licensure: ASCP certification or eligible; maintain active certification if applicable.
• Experience: Preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform all clinical testing in assigned department.
• Record and report test results accurately and promptly.
• Perform and interpret quality control testing following established guidelines.
• Maintain a high level of quality assurance.
• Practice established safety procedures, including Universal Precautions and proper safety equipment.
• Consult with supervisor/manager when criteria for decisions are not present.
• Coordinate and evaluate new reagents, procedures and equipment as requested by supervisor/manager.
• Perform routine scheduled and specialized maintenance of laboratory equipment.
