Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring a Medical Technologist for our IL Central Lab Core Lab on a part-time 3rd shift (10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.) with rotating weekends/holidays. Requires a Bachelor's in Clinical Laboratory Sciences (or related field) and MT/MLS certification within 1 year.

No prior experience required; excellent communication and teamwork are essential. You'll perform and oversee a spectrum of tests across transfusion, microbiology, chemistry, hematology and related areas, while upholding

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences required.
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related field.
MT/MLS certification must be obtained within 1 year (ASCP/AMT).

Responsibilities

Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests within established protocols.
Monitors workflow and adjusts to complete work in a timely manner.
Evaluates results for clinical significance and reporting accuracy.
Performs and documents calibration, maintenance and repair of instruments.
Ensures specimens are properly labeled and suitable for testing.
Provides training and guidance to laboratory staff and students.
Complies with accreditation standards and quality control procedures.
