Job summary

UC Health is seeking a Medical Technologist II for the Third Shift in the Core Lab. The role involves performing routine and complex analyses, ensuring accurate results, and maintaining equipment with quality control practices.

Experience in a high-volume clinical lab and ASCP certification are preferred to support patient care. The position requires knowledge of specimen requirements, lab terminology, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or medical technology, or related fields.
• Preferred MT/MLS/MLT (ASCP) certification or equivalent.
• Minimum one year experience in a full-service laboratory.
• Knowledge of specimen requirements; familiarity with lab terminology and test schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory analyses and interpret results.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and correct problems; develop alternatives as needed.
• Operate, maintain, and repair clinical laboratory equipment; perform QC and calibration.
• Obtain blood specimens by venipuncture or skin puncture within scope of training.
• Process specimens and ensure proper accessioning and labeling.
• Provide instruction and mentorship to students and new associates.
