Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to prioritize and perform tests across chemistry, hematology, microbiology and blood bank, mainly night shift 11 p.m.–7 a.m., with records compliant to CAP, DNV and CLIA guidelines.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and licensure (ASCP/NCA/AMT) with competency to work in up to four lab areas and maintain cross-area skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• ASCP, NCA, or AMT licensure required by Georgia state.
• 2+ years laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes routine and stat testing per policy and time frames.
• Performs analyses independently according to criteria.
• Assists other lab areas to facilitate specimen processing.
• Calibrates and maintains laboratory equipment.
• Maintains lab records and enters data into the system.
• Consults with supervisor or pathologist on questionable results.
• Reviews daily QC data and flags abnormalities.
• Precepts MLT students as needed.
• Attends 80%+ of continuing education programs.
