Job summary

Memorial Hermann TMC Blood Bank is seeking a Medical Technologist or MLS to join our team on Night shift. Schedule can be 4-10s or 3-12s with every 3rd or 4th weekend rotation. The role performs laboratory testing and procedures to support diagnosis and patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

We value accuracy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and compliance with regulatory standards. Experience in a high-volume lab and Blood Bank exposure will be an asset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Clinical Laboratory Science from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination as stated.
• Equivalency required for foreign education.
• Licenses/certifications include ASCP/AMT/MBSP options and Blood Bank qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily laboratory operations including specimen collection/process, quality control and testing.
• Interpret and verify test results with knowledge of instrumentation and techniques.
• Maintain analyzers and assist with troubleshooting; ensure safety and compliance.
• Perform clerical duties to sustain efficient workflow and document outcomes.
• Support point-of-care testing and trauma-related blood bank operations as needed.
• Adhere to policies and regulatory standards (TJC, FDA, CAP, CLIA) and participate in performance improvement.
