Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform routine and complex laboratory tests with substantial independence, delivering rapid and accurate results to support diagnosis and treatment. Required: Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology; MT (ASCP) certification preferred; minimum one year of clinical lab experience.

Schedule: 40 hours/week, 10pm-8am, every other weekend; 10-hour night shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• MT (ASCP) certification preferred.
• Minimum one year of clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex lab tests across departments per CLIA guidelines.
• Provide guidance to Medical Laboratory Technicians in interpretation of results.
• Assess specimen acceptability and maintain specimen integrity throughout testing.
