ARUP Laboratories, a university enterprise, seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician in South Jordan, UT. The role involves performing waived to highly complex tests, operating and troubleshooting analyzers, and maintaining QA/QC in a busy clinical lab.

The minimum qualification is a Bachelor’s in Medical Laboratory Sciences with MLS(ASCP) or equivalent certification; candidates should be prepared for rigorous work and branch out to support multiple sections as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or better in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
• MLS(ASCP), MT(ASCP), MT (AAB) or MLS (AMT) certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived, moderate, and highly complex analytic tests as qualified.
• Operates, calibrates and troubleshoots laboratory instruments; requests service for instrument issues.
• Maintains QC records and participates in QA indicators across lab sections.
• Follows proper specimen collection, handling, transport, and recording procedures.
• Logs data and verifies accuracy in the Laboratory Information System with clear notes.
• Trains new and current employees on procedures and policies.
• Provides technical information to clients, peers, and clinicians as requested.
