Job summary

The Health Care Administrators Association (HCAA) invites applications for an Associate Medical Laboratory Scientist in Portland, Oregon. You will perform high-complexity laboratory tests, evaluate specimens, analyze data, and assist with instrument maintenance on nights, working on-site with the Laboratory Services team.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in relevant sciences, MLS/MT certification within six months, NAACLS-accredited MLS degree preferred, and up to one year of lab

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist or Laboratory Scientist within 6 months of hire from recognized certifying bodies.
• Preferred: 1 year of laboratory experience and a NAACLS-accredited MLS degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical duties with minimal supervision
• Ensure timely reporting of test results
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments
• Collaborate with caregivers and laboratory staff to support patient care

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences
