Job summary

Providence Portland Medical Center is seeking a part-time Night Shift Associate Medical Laboratory Scientist in Portland, OR. The MLS is responsible for accurate and timely reporting of high-complexity lab results with minimal supervision, performing all phases of testing and instrument maintenance.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in laboratory sciences and certification within 6 months, with preferred NAACLS MLS program and 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
• National credentialing within 6 months (ASCP/AMT/ABT/ASCP MLS/CLS equivalents).
• 1 year experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and timely report high-complexity test results with minimal supervision.
• Perform pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis and instrument maintenance.
• Collaborate with acute-care and outpatient caregivers and other Laboratory Services staff.
