Job summary

Atrium Health's Lexington Medical Center Laboratory in Lexington, NC is seeking a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) for a full-time day shift, Monday through Friday, 8a–5p. You will perform procedures with minimal supervision and ensure timely, accurate test results.

Candidates should have an associate degree (preferred), MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification (required), and NAACLS-approved program preferred. Strong communication, safety and QA responsibilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• Previous experience as a Medical Lab Technician preferred.
• MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification required.
• NAACLS approved Medical Technician program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards and promotes teamwork.
• Ensures accuracy and timeliness of patient lab results and follows procedures with minimal supervision.
• Maintains QC/QA, evaluates QC results and reports patient results in LIS.
• Ensures correct patient identification, labeling and sample tracking.
• Follows safety policies, PPE use and infection control practices.
• Maintains ongoing education to meet objectives and certifications; 4 hours CE/year.
• Coords lab activities and communicates to meet objectives; adjusts schedule as needed.
