Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technician to join our San Diego, CA team. The role supports clinical testing by evaluating specimens, performing routine and complex procedures, and ensuring instrument reliability. You will report results promptly to aid patient care and maintain safety and quality standards.

Requirements include an Associates degree in a chemical/biological field with CA MLT license; a Bachelor's with ASCP/AMT certification is preferred. Overtime or other shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology with CA MLT license
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology with ASCP or AMT certification

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE
