Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist for the Core Lab on the second shift at University Hospital in Omaha, NE. The MLS will perform diagnostic testing across hematology, coagulation, chemistry and urinalysis, delivering accurate results and compassionate service to patients and families.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree (or associate degree with MT(HEW) certification) and MLS/CLS certification within 12 months, plus strong communication, teamwork and flexibility to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science or an associate’s degree with MT(HEW) certification.
• Certification as MLS/CLS by ASCP/AMT or equivalent required within 12 months of eligibility/graduation.
• Equivalent certifications include MT(ASCP) or CLS(NCA) as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing to assist physicians and other healthcare professionals in screening, diagnosis and treatment of patients.
• Accurately perform and evaluate highly complex laboratory testing with comprehensive knowledge and efficiency.
• Demonstrate teamwork and provide excellent customer service in a busy clinical environment.
