Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med Surg Float at Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX. This full-time role is night shift, requiring active Texas RN licensure and BLS certification. You will partner with a multidisciplinary team to plan, monitor, and optimize patient care and discharge transitions.

Preferred credentials include ACLS and PALS. Diploma in nursing or equivalent licensure is required, with Med Surg experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• RN credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care Planning: Implement and track customized, evidence-based patient care plans.
• Condition Monitoring: Record and communicate real-time clinical changes to the care team.
• Interdisciplinary Lead: Coordinate all disciplines to ensure seamless, holistic patient care.
• Order Execution: Precisely execute physician and nursing directives with clinical accuracy.
• Transition Strategy: Manage discharge planning to ensure safe and successful patient transitions.

Education
