Job summary

Seton Medical Center Harker Heights in Texas is seeking a Night Shift, full-time Medical Surgical Charge Nurse to lead a Med/Surg unit and ensure safe, high-quality patient care. The Charge Nurse coordinates assignments, oversees staffing decisions, mentors staff, and maintains compliance with Joint Commission standards while driving performance improvement and efficient operations.

Requirements include Texas RN licensure, BLS and ACLS, BSN within four years, and at least one year of Med/Surg

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Texas required.
• BSN must be obtained within four years of hire.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS required upon hire.
• Minimum one year Med/Surg experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as clinical leader for Med/Surg unit operations.
• Coordinate shift operations, assignments, and staffing decisions.
• Rounding on patients and ensuring patient care quality.
• Ensure compliance with TJC standards and hospital policies.
• Support performance improvement and budget planning.
