Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic/Vehicle Technician for our Des Moines, IA operation. Diagnose and repair gasoline engines, powertrain components, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems.

Must have own tools or the ability to obtain them. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM start with a $2.00 per hour shift differential. Wages range from $20.00 to $33.00 per hour, with OT paid time and a half after 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2 years technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair gasoline engines and powertrain components.
• Repair hydraulic brakes, steering and suspension systems.
• Address electrical systems and diesel emission systems.
• Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Possess own tools or obtain tools to complete all job functions.
• Follow shift leader instructions and work independently or in a team.
