Job summary

Zekelman Industries in Chicago, IL is hiring a Production Material Handler to support production by safely handling raw materials and finished products while maintaining continuous flow. You will operate overhead cranes to receive, stage, and transport steel coils and assist with equipment, inventory, and work area safety.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, preferably an associate or higher, 5+ years manufacturing experience, and overhead crane certification or ability to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate, Bachelor's or Trade Certification preferred.
• 5+ years manufacturing experience preferred.
• Overhead Crane Certification required (or ability to obtain).
• Experience reading production schedules and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead cranes to unload master coils, stage materials, and transport slit coils to storage locations.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished products safely and efficiently.
• Communicate with mill personnel to maintain production flow.
• Perform daily inspections of cranes and equipment; report issues.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas; support team tasks.
