Job summary

Smurfit WestRock plc in North Carolina is hiring a Material Handler to support production by delivering, staging, moving, and removing materials as needed. You will help maintain material flow, assist with inventory and WIP, and uphold a safe, clean work environment.

The role requires operating forklifts or other material-handling equipment, lifting up to 50 lbs, and adhering to 5S standards and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts or other material-handling equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical job functions.
• Commitment to following PPE requirements and safety guidelines.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Load, stage, remove, and deliver materials to production lines and workstations.
• Manage WIP materials and maintain proper material flow throughout the facility.
• Retrieve and return pallets, skids, and excess material to designated locations.
• Remove empty pallets, completed loads, or packaging from equipment as needed.
• Keep warehouse aisles and production areas clean and organized per 5S standards.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and related material-handling equipment safely.
• Support receiving activities including staging, counting, or verifying materials.
• Assist production scheduling by ensuring timely delivery and availability of materials.
