Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Material Handler in Winston-Salem, NC to support efficient material flow from Manufacturing to Assembly Plants and Customers.

The role requires operating various MHE, performing safety checks, unloading inbound materials, stocking warehouses, and ensuring accurate paperwork and inventory. Overtime is required and a drug screen may follow a conditional offer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Forklift certification a plus or willing to obtain upon hire.
• Fluency in English required, verbal and written.
• Two or more years experience as warehouse clerk preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate Electric Pallet Jacks, Forklifts, Stand-up Reach Trucks, and Sit-down Swing Reach Trucks.
• Complete a daily checklist on Material Handling Equipment (MHE) before shift start.
• Ensure safety equipment and devices are in place and functioning.
• Unload inbound materials, warehouse materials, supply production lines and load outbound shipments.
• Check trailers for safety and accuracy of materials handled; unitize and mark materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory and perform daily cycle counts.
• Assist other areas to maintain a team approach; back up Warehouse Clerk when needed.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of equipment and area; follow company policies; overtime may be required.
