Job summary

Smurfit WestRock's Plymouth, IN facility is seeking a Material Handler to move products, support converting equipment, and maintain safety. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, operating a powered forklift, and working a 12-hour day shift (6 am–6 pm) on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college a plus.
• 3-5 years of material handling experience with forklift in manufacturing.
• Ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 50 lbs; stand and walk for full shift.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team.
• Basic math skills and familiarity with job jackets, tags and worksheets.
• Effective communication and strong time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and promote safety programs.
• Support converting equipment to ensure steady supply of materials.
• Move and transfer finished goods to storage areas; banding and wrapping as needed.
• Inspect products and ensure correct tagging and material identification.
• Read and interpret job jackets, specs, and load tags.
• Maintain housekeeping and participate in inventories.
• Complete paperwork and system transactions accurately and timely.
• Assist production and shipping as needed.
